Missing the assembly is totally believable. But it getting out of the


plant probably took a series of system failures. I have no idea how that could have passed dyno.

Almost feel sorry for the Quality and Production teams at whatever plant made that engine. That is going to be a very in-depth investigation.

And yes, the piston and connecting rods are generally installed as a single subassembly.
